If you don’t have a Facebook business page set up already, then here are a few reasons why you need to. It seems like in the last month or so all I hear and see is the importance of having a Facebook Fan Page for you business.
Maybe it is because I have recently set up a service doing just this and therefore notice more.
There are many reasons why your business should have a Facebook Fan Page, I’m just sharing one.
Facebook is all the go, it’s popular, it’s has active users, it dominating the world even as you read this and there is no time like the present to tap into this.
With over 750 millions active users on Facebook, if you snooze you loose. You have to keep up with your competition and stay competitive. You have heard the talk, you know you have do something with Facebook, so what is stopping you? If you need help send me an email.
These are the stats:
There are over 900 million registered users on Facebook. How mind-boggling is that? Really I don’t need to go any further as this speaks for itself as to why you need to get a Facebook Fan Page for Business.
Some more stats ….
- 1 out of every 8 minutes online is spent on Facebook.
- 40% of Facebook users are age 35
- 93% of US Adult internet users are on Facebook
- 64% of Facebook users have become fans of at least one company or brand on Facebook

That’s gigantic. Facebook is prime real estate for you to build online relationships with potential and existing customers. These stats are telling us that this is where brand new customers are ready and waiting. How do you tap into this? A starting place is a Customized Facebook Fan Page.
So if there are that many active users on Facebook then it probably means people are talking. Certainly my friends are sharing information with me about products and services that they use and are happy with and for that matter unhappy with. Is one of these products and services your Brand? You probably wouldn’t know unless you were on Facebook and had a Facebook Page as then your brand would be tagged giving you an opportunity to communicate back effectively.
The thing with Facebook is as my friends share with me it shows up on my wall so then all of my friends can see. It’s a form of viral marketing. How viral marketing was described to me is about an emotional appeal, getting through to people with the dramatic use of words, and putting product or marketing associations into a social context.
Viral marketing refers to using available social networks to market a product, brand, or person by way of “viral processes”, similar to the way a flu virus would pass from one person to another, multiplying exponentially with each “exposure” — leading to an “epidemic”.
How does this work? Well I post an update on your Wall “just had my hair done at (tag this business)” ….. with a photo. My friends see this and comment. The friends of my friends also see this and if they were looking for a new hairdresser they would check out my photo and the business. They comment which shows up on their wall for all of their friends to see. Hopefully you get the picture.
What I really love about this is that Google also loves it.
Google crawls Facebook fan pages
Having a Facebook Fan Page will boost your SEO (search engine Optizimation) as Facebook fan pages and notes are indexed by Google, Yahoo and other search engines. Google bots regularly crawl Facebook Fan Pages for Data. Facebook profiles are not which is why you need a Facebook Page.
This means if someone is searching for targeted information and you have written a note on this or it is mentioned on your page, there is a fair chance your page will turn up in the search results. For Free!
This means a fresh supply of visitors to your site and a boost to your page ranking.
So it is important to list all kinds of information about yourself, your business, products and services on your Facebook Fan Page. When people click on your web link from your Facebook Page, Google spider will also go to your site via these links.
Are you convinced that your business needs a Facebook page? If so I would love the opportunity of creating one for you.
