On Sunday 9th December, 2012, Antiguans and Barbudans will celebrate heroes’ day, which is the day set aside to honour the lives of Antiguans and Barbudans, whose contributions to the country have changed the history of Antigua and Barbuda for the better.

These individuals include: First Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda — The Hon. Dr. Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Senior, Second Premier of Antigua and Barbuda — Sir George H. Walter, Cricket Legend — Sir Vivian Richards, educator and leader in education — Dame Georgiana Nellie Robinson, and the leader of the slavery revolt that freed the country from slavery regulations — King “Prince Klass” Court.

While Heroes Day is a means of remembering the part these great persons played in nation building, recognizing their contributions on an annual basis will also serve to inspire new generations of citizens to do the same.

Facebook changed all user emails to a ‘facebook.com’ domain today – a pretty sneaky move on their part to do so without permission or notice.

Back in 2010, Facebook launched its own email service, and many predicted it would be the death of email. That was hardly the case. Email is alive and well, and most people don’t even realize they have a Facebook email address. Is this a move by Facebook to increase the adoption of their email service? Our guess is yes.

A Facebook page is important part of your social media strategy. These pages if developed well can help improve the relationship you have with your current & potential customers and/or users of your products or services. In addition they give you the opportunity to interact in real time with users and find out more about who they are and why they are interested in your products or services, BUT it will also give you insight in what might need to be improved!

What exactly is a Responsive Website?

A responsive website (as the one used for this website), is an approach to web development that allows a website to break itself down smoothly across multiple monitor sizes, screen resolutions, and platforms, be it a computer, tablet or mobile device. It allows the developer to create a site that is optimized for each platform, both in navigation, readability and load time.

Yet, that’s what I see a lot of companies doing – as if the mere act of having Facebook Page is enough to take care of all your marketing needs.What a complete waste of your time and theirs.

It isn’t. But what you can do with your Facebook Page doesn’t need to be overwhelming. There are myriad ways to put them to work promoting and marketing your businesses.
